Pre-Jam to 2/12
Additions:
-Break system has been added as a Space Invaders inspired mini-game.
-Player Space Ship fires dual lasers with a shield to absorb a single blow, three health points for three lives.
-Enemy ships spawn in preset points and move across screen, periodically firing and rewarding Score points when killed by player lasers.
-Still in active development, not fully integrated within the main game as of yet.
Revamps:
-Reworked Positive/Negative Trait System, condensed to five traits each and an additional 'Insight' trait.
-Related to this traits now have a direct influence, alongside Skills, on task bar progressions.
-Reworked logic and signals for how task progress bars are handled, these are now handled within the coding progression scene as opposed to looping through Cory's node.
-None of the above is currently accessible for viewing in game but is integrated to affect task progression, this effect is visible though not defined.
-Post-Jam, 3/3 onward:
Additions:
-Added music for Main Menu.
-Break Minigame is now accessible via Break option in action panel connected to Cory's computer. WIP
-Introduction of random spawning, both in number and locations, of enemy ships per each wave, scaling dependent on level. -WIP
-Scanning Area added to process whether there are enemy ships are present on the map.
Revamps:
-Reworking how signals for activating task activity and break activities function.
Known Issues:
-Unable to exit out of Break game once inside.
-Options in Main Menu shows up as tiny prompt in the top left corner.
-Skip option is for ease of development testing as I work further on this, not intended for general player use.
Developer Notes-
A lot of what I am sorting through currently is code that I had written about 8 months ago and, since, have learned a lot more from and changed the way I code now quite significantly from how I did so then. This is both rewarding to see how far I've come as much as it is taxing trying to make sense of old code that makes no sense at all to me now. It is a valuable learning experience though and impressing the importance of documentation of my work for future referencing.
